A full, unrestricted valid driver’s licence showing the current residential address in English is required for the main driver and any additional driver. If the licence is not in English, it must be accompanied by an official translation and / or a valid International Driving Permit.


Your passport is required to be presented if you are not an Australian resident.


Payment is required by credit card (or accepted Mastercard or Visa debit card only) in the driver’s name. Payment by debit card will require a second form of identification in addition to the drivers licence. Please note debit cards are not accepted for all vehicles.

2 credit cards in the drivers name (or 1 credit & 1 debit) are required for Prestige bookings.


A security deposit is required via a credit card or accepted debit card in the name of the driver. A higher deposit amount applies to accepted debit cards. The deposit amount is blocked (not debited) at time of pick up.

The price of the rental excluding prepayments will also be authorised on your card. In this case, the total amount authorised on your card will be the rental price + the security deposit.

Once the vehicle has been returned, we advise your bank to release the authorisation hold and to process the actual rental charge. The hold may take up to 10 to 15 business days to release depending on who you bank with and this will be evident when you no longer can see the transaction displayed as a pending transaction. 


Toll roads operate throughout Australia. There is an electronic toll tag in the vehicle and all charges will be applied to your nominated card by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). Toll roads are charged per day used plus a $3.30 service fee for each day used.

Please note that the RMS charge on your bank statement will not appear from Europcar, instead it will appear as ‘RENTALCARTOLL PARRAMATTA AU’.


The vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel. There are 2 options for returning your vehicle:

  1. You return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel:
    You will not be charged for fuel.
  2. You return the vehicle without a full tank of fuel:
    You will be charged the cost of the missing fuel which may be at a premium.

You must use the correct type of fuel specified. You have no damage cover if damage to the vehicle occurs is caused by the use of an incorrect fuel type. 


Parking, speeding, tolling and traffic infringements are your responsibility and will incur an administrative fee.


If there is Damage, theft of the vehicle or Third Party Loss you must pay an amount up to the basic Damage Liability Fee (DLF) / Excess amount plus GST as per the rental agreement.

Damage cover products may be purchased to reduce your liability. Please refer to the ‘Cover Matrix’ for further details.

*Please note: there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances. Optional covers may only be available on certain vehicle categories.


Please check that the condition of the vehicle matches the description on your rental agreement’s ‘Damage Out’ section. If you find any damage not shown on the rental agreement please notify us prior to using the vehicle, additional damage found will be subject to charges.

Free roadside assistance is provide for inherent mechanical faults but fees and charges apply for all other faults or driver induced errors.

Optional Roadside Assistance Cover at an additional cost may be purchased to provide cover for scenarios such as:

  1. refueling the Vehicle when You have run out of fuel with up to 6 litres of fuel;
  2. changing a wheel as the result of a flat tyre


We allow a grace period of 30 minutes for the return of the vehicle. If it is returned more than 30 minutes after the time set for its return in the Rental Agreement, you will be charged one full day’s extra rental.


Invoices and payment receipts will be sent to you electronically to the email address nominated on your booking application.
