WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED

If there is Damage, theft of the vehicle or Third Party Loss you must pay an amount up to the basic Damage Liability Fee (DLF) / Excess amount plus GST as per the rental agreement.

Damage cover products may be purchased to reduce your liability. Please refer to the ‘Cover Matrix’ below for further details.

*Please note: there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances. Optional covers may only be available on certain vehicle categories.

BASIC

What is Basic Cover?

Basic Cover is already included in the price at no additional cost, but if there is Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss you must pay an amount up to the basic Damage Liability Fee (DLF) / Excess amount even if you have travel or car rental excess insurance.

Even if you pay the basic DLF / Excess amount, there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances.

Minimum age required:

Must be over 21 to book a car in Australia or New Zealand (25 for Prestige Vehicles). Min age requirements for other locations vary, so be sure to read the booking path information or the country terms and conditions found here.

Car category:

Basic Cover is included on all vehicle categories.

MEDIUM

What is Medium Cover?

Medium Cover can be purchased for an optional additional cost to reduce the basic Damage Liability Fee / Excess amount if there is Damage, theft of the vehicle or Third Party Loss. But there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances.

Premium Cover can be purchased for an optional additional cost that allows you the highest reduction to the basic Damage Liability Fee / Excess amount if there is Damage, theft of the vehicle or Third Party Loss. But there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances.

*Your liability for damage to the windscreen, lights or tyres is limited to the DLF/Excess payable for the extra level of Damage Cover selected.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE (RSA)

What is Roadside Assistance?

Free roadside assistance is provided for inherent mechanical faults but fees and charges apply for all other faults or driver induced errors. Optional Roadside Assistance Cover at an additional cost may be purchased to provide cover for:

  1. Refuelling the Vehicle when You have run out of fuel with up to 6 litres of fuel;
  2. Unlocking the Vehicle when the keys, keyless start or remote control device have been locked in the Vehicle;
  3. Changing a wheel as the result of a flat tyre; and
  4. Starting the Vehicle if the battery is flat because You have left the headlights or interior lights on or the air-conditioning, entertainment system or other electrical equipment operating when the engine is not running.
